I went to dealer looking for extended cab Ram. Learned they only make Reg and Quad cab. How far back do I look to get extended cab w/cummins?

You mean a four-door or crew cab?
I think they last did that in the 1970's on Dodges.

 

Extended Cab stopped when they redesigned the Ram, so I believe the last year for the EC was 2000.

 

To get it with a diesel you can get a 2002. The 2500 and 3500 didn't change body styles till 2003. If you want a 1500 you have to go back to 2001, but you can't get a diesel in a 1500. Hope this helps.

 

In 2000 the Ram was available with an extended cab without doors, aka, the Club Cab. It was also available as an extended cab with rear hinged
doors, aka, Quad Cab. In 2001 the Club Cab was dropped. In 2002 the 1500 introduced the current Ram's sheetmetal and the Quad Cab got 4 front hinged doors. The 2002 2500 & 3500's still used the old sheet metal.
So, if the extended cab Ram your looking for has no back doors, it will have to be from 2000 or earlier. If the little suicide doors are ok with you,
you can also pick from 2001 and 2002 2500 & 3500's with the Cummins Diesel.
