Default Performance upgrades for '03 HEMI

First of all, I am new to this forum and would like to apologize in advance for "beating any dead horses". I have been searching the site and have found that it will take me hours to acquire the info I am looking for. I was hoping I could get a few replies to this post on quick and easy performance mods, that really work, in order to sum things up.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I can tell you what you won't see, and that's a performance computer from Mopar Performance. I spoke with them this morning and they WILL NOT have any computers for the HEMI. Darn.

Default RE: Performance upgrades for '03 HEMI

Hello and welcome to Dodge Forum!

Performance upgrades can be tricky and expensive. The best thing to do is figure out how much of a budget you have, and how much power you want out of your truck. Those two things will set the tone for what you can do. Almost immediately everyone goes for an exhaust kit, and drop in filter or full blown air intake. Those are two good places to start, and should be done at the same time for the best result. Another option is a computer programmer and or tuner. Those are relatively cheap and add some performance gain. The only problem is that if you want the very best performance program worth the money you spent on the programmer you have to run an aggressive program thus requiring premium fuel. That might be fine for some, but too costly for others. In my honest opinion picking a combination that works does not neccessarily mean big money. For me the belief of simple and functional yields the best results for me, and by that I mean upgrades that can yield solid horsepower and torque gains. Try a mild exhaust system, and look into an air intake. We all know that the current package on the Hemi was not designed for making the most horsepower possible, despite what the reps tell you. They have to concentrate on fuel effieciency and passenger comfort and making the entire package consumer friendly.

Take care.
