Default attempting a tune-up

Hello all-

I married into Dodge (Ford person myself, sorry) - my wife has a 1997 Ram 1500 with a 318 and I am going to tune it up myself. The problem is the GD distributor is so far back under the dash that I cannot imagine how to get to it. Small block Fords have it sitting right in front - easy to get to. Rather than learning the hard way I would appreciate a tip or two on how to make this relatively painless.

Thanks in advance,
Josh

Default RE: attempting a tune-up

As a fellow 97 ram 318 mysekf all i can say is remove the air box and put on somthing with padding ... lol ... i had to lay across the entire engine, let me tell you it is not a serta sleeper .. other than that if you have a step stool cover your fender with a rug and lean across the sides thats the best advise i can give ...good luck
