Default Will 33" tires fit on a stock 2004 4X4 ?

I was told by the dealer that I plan to buy my Ram 1500 4X4 from that I can put 33" tires on it without a lift. Is this true ?? If it is true I will have a set of brand new 20" wheels and tires for sale after I pickup the truck

Yes. Your current tires (275/60SR20) should be 33 inches tall, at least that's what Tirerack.com tells me.

Here's a formula that will sort of get you in the ball park to determine the overall tire diameter. Take the 20" tire size that BigDave listed, 275/60-20.

{(width x aspect ratio) / 25.4] x 2} + wheel diameter = OD

{[(275 x 0.60) / 25.4] x 2} + 20" = OD

[(165 / 25.4) x 2 ] + 20" = OD

6.496" x 2 + 20" = OD

12.992" + 20" = OD

32.992" ~ 33.00" = OD

See BigDave was right on the money! Some of TireRacks tables don't list the OD for all tire sizes, so this formula helps fill in the voids. Keep in mind, however, it's only the calculated OD. The actual OD for a specific tire may or may not exactly match, but it will be close.
