I ordered an '04 Ram Hemi today, after test driving another one on the lot. I noticed the exhaust volume on the '04 was less than on an '03 I test drove a month or so back. Upon closer inspection, I noted that the tailpipe on the '04 has a "can" halfway from the muffler and the exhaust tip. This begs the question: Will an '03 tailpipe fit the '04? And, why did they add the can? - Thanks - Dave

BTW: why would you want to put an 03 tail pipe on your 04??

 

If I did put an '03 tailpipe on an '04, it would be to eliminate the resonator on the '04, so the sound of the exhaust was improved to match that of an '03.</P>

 

If you can afford it, the Mopar Performance exhausts are nice and throaty. </P>

They are a little pricey though....if I remember right the mopar exhaust is made by Borla!!

Gibbson, and Magnaflow are two other good brands!!

If you dont wanna go cat back you can just swap out the muffler! The stock pipes are already 2.5 inches which is all you need or you will lose some low end (not good on full size trucks)

 

<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" color=red size=2> Your right! The 03's do not have a resonator the 04's do to meet noise standards i,m told. Noticed that at my dealer the other day when they were unloading some 04 hemi 2500 they were a little quiter than mine but not much...humm...thrust glass packs on a 03 hemi......nah...probaly get laughed of the lot on cruise night.....lol</FONT>

 

You can allways get aftermarket exhaust... Sounds Awesome!</P>
