Ok i have a 1998 dodge ram 5.2l slt laramie quad cab short box w 91250miles that i got about a month ago and i am looking at trading it in and buying a 1999 dodge ram sport with 33000 miles on it the guy at the small local dealer said he would give me 10000 for the trade and pay for my license plate on the 99 truck and the price of the 99 truck he would sell for would be 17200 now am i getting ripped off because i am losing about 2500 since i paid 12500 on the 98 and with the trade i guess my loan would only be 7200 more but that would add onto about 8600 making 15800 would you guys do this or should i just be happy with what i got

i would have to have either of the trucks for 10+ yrs since i would be going to college in that time

 

I would compare the options on the Truck. 92k is a good amount of miles. Are you going to get a warranty with the 99.

 

I dont want to seem negative but I just got my truck about 2 months ago and prices I came across were way lower than that.. such as a 2002 with 45k miles for $12k. a whole lot of 97's and 98's under 50k miles under $12k

check the autotrader online

these were also cash prices though so maybe prices are higher when financing?

ok the 99 has a leather bed cover and no scratches at least through my instepction including everywher eon the truck there wasnt even a scratch and it has a cd player, power seats etc bassically everything except leather (which i dont want)
also has a remote starter and 5.9l, the cool sport headlights

my truck has a tape player no keyless entry (however i bought a remote start keyless entry for $211 installed) which i will be able to get full refund since it isnt in yet and my truck has numerous dents and dings and scratches no bed cover and the bed is all scratched with dents and bolts of some sort in it
my truck doesnt have the power seat, has a 5.2l, no fog lights i think that is about all of the diff

they are both quad cad and such

 

ok well where do u live these prices are actually below book (both of them) for the 98 and 99 i looked on kelley blue book

well a truck or 4 wheel drive is kinda needed where I live so that and cash value may make a diff

 

oh.. 4x4, i was assuming 2 wheel drive for some reason, i dont know the prices on the 4x4's sorry
