Looking at a new Ram
Nightrider, I agree w/ you, the ford modular motors are a pain in the @$$ to work on anything besides the accessories. BUT, they are good torquey motors from my firsthand experience. But, on the good side, i have actually found a dealer who quoted me only a thousand more for a lonestar hemi. So i'm pretty happy. Now I just have to wait and see how my credit goes. And start saving more $$$ for the gas tank once i get it, lmao! Also, I was wondering possibly what Interest rates you've seen people walk away w/ at these kind of discounts, ($9000 off msrp), i know they are higher w/ rebates, but how high. I"m even considering possibly using a co-signer w/ awesome credit to get it quicker, since i am still younger and don't have a mortgage and all that. Well, don't mean to be rude. I just haven't ran credit yet and wondering what the average apr is on the big rebates. Thanks!
I believe the lowest APR you can get with all the rebates is 4.6% or 4.9%. You might want to do some calculations and see which way would be better. With the rebates and the % or no rebates with 0%. Since you don't know your credit history, you probably won't be approved for 0%, but you can get someone with really good credit and have them be the primary on the account and you be the co-signer.
Well as a 03 4.7 owner and 16K on the odometer I can say I have not had a single problem with the motor or trans. I have done some long trips (reason for the milage). Those trips are highways, mountains, desert, city(San Fran) and numerous trips to the cities in the valley. The motor has been strong and the price was great at the time. If you can pick up a V8 full size for 15K that is a great price. I drove all of the brands including the toy, but none compared when it came to the price and function I get out of mine. Good luck on your decision and hopefully you end up behind the wheel of the Dodge.
