What are the Pros & Cons of Super Chargers? I know they boost up your Horses but I don't know by how much. Are they dangerous for your engine?

I know they void the warranty.

Can a Super Charger be used with a programer or chip?

The supercharger is tougher on the engine. The pressure is greater, causing higher pressure on bearings, valve springs, etc. The supercharger also has a lot of parasitic lose to operate. If you get a kit from Kenne Bell, they will give you a controller that works with the kit. The kits are pretty complete from what I've heard.

If you're still wondering about power, most Twin Screw Superchargers boost your power by about 50% of the engine's power. If you've got 345HP and add the Twin Screw Supercharger it'll be at or near 520HP. I believe the Kenne Bell for the HEMI brings it to 517HP.

One thing I'm not sure about is this:
If I've got the HEMI and I add the Supercharger with a 50% boost, that would put it at or near 520HP. If I mod it to 425HP, then add the Supercharger, would it add 50% of the stock power or the modded power?

 

My question is HOW did you get your Hemi to 425? and is that dyno result?
