Engine cuts out and lightning bolt on dash
I had an interesting problem occur with my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn (with Hemi). I was driving at about 7000ft elevation going up a hill at about 60mph when all of the sudden the engine went to an idle and stayed there. Then a lightning bolt appeared in the lower right of the dash. The engine was idling at 1100rpm and the gas pedal had no effect. So even when I stomped on it, the engine continued to idle at 1100rpm, as if the throttle cable was broke.
So I pulled over to the side of the road, verified that the engine was still running...it was...still idling at 1100rpm. Then I shut it off and started it back up and everything was fine. It has been fine since then and that was 2 weeks ago. Anybody know what this was all about????

Sounds like some sort of computer issue. I don't think there is a throttle cable, it is all electricaly controled that's why mashing on the gas had no effect. Turning off your truck is like rebooting your computer, which is why it started working again after that. Must have been some software glitch?
