Default Cruise Control Issue?

I own a 96 Ram Indy w/168K mile. I drive it daily, I have noticed lately that my brake lights stay on when I am out of the truck. Has anyone experienced this type of problem?

Do they stay on all the time? Although I'm not overly familiar with the common problems associated with Dodge trucks, it kind of sounds like the brake light switch may be stuck. Easy way to find out, when the brake lights come on as you say, reach up under the dash and unplug the brake switch (I don't know how easily accessable it is). If the lights go out, there's your starting point...

Good luck!

This only happens ever so often. When it happens I remove the fuse, I go about my business and when I get back I put the fuse back in, and it seems to work just fine. Next time the light comes on I will try to lift up on the brake, that is what someone told me the other day. I will search for the brake switch and give that a shot. Thanks.

Have you encountered any cruise control problems?
