Default New Guy needs some help!

Is it going to mess up my computer if I pull off my CAT converter? I have an 01 1500 4X4 with the 5.2 liter. Will there be any noticable performance advantages?

I would expect a check engine light with a failure pointing to the last O2 sensor. I believe there is an O2 sensor right behind the last cat. someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I remember seeing last time I was under my truck.

Actually, most catalytic converters flow pretty well... considering the possible side effects of taking it off, you'd probably be better off changing out the muffler, and installing headers. Besides, you don't want to go in for an emissions test without a cat on there...
