Front diff oil has run out 3 or 4 times. Gotta replace axel seal. First I need to deal with 4wd not working right, if at all. Won't always engage. When it does, lots of loud noise on a small turn. Afraid to engage it so I need to deal with it.

Should I start at the front diff? I'm hoping its that and not the transfer case, think.

Where should I start to diagnose the problem?
