I need a new tow vehicle. I pull an enclosed trailer of about 5000-7000 lbs in the summer. I was looking at newer quad cab. Was wondering what 1500 series owners with V8's get for mileage when towing?

I was also looking at 3rd gen quad cabs with the 6cyl diesel. Being as I've only had gas trucks, I'm concerned about buying a diesel used with 100,000+ mileage.

Any thoughts or anyone want to share their mileage and what their towing?

I'm now torn between a newer gas V8 and the older diesel.
