2000 dodge ram ext cab 4x4
I was driving my father inlaws truck when the right front tire came off. It damaged the rotor and wheel bearing. I has it towed and requested a flat bed. But the guy said he could tow it with a regular wrecker. He put the trans and transfer case in neutral. The truck was in 2 high when it broke down. When we got to my house he couldn't back up cause it seemed hung up. I checked shifter to see it slipped in drive. I put it in neutral and he unhooked. Once I got rotor and bearing replaced I tried to take it for a test drive but it wouldn't drive or back up. It sounds like the trans kicks in but the drive surf doesn't move. The rpms drop as if in gear but you give it gas and it bogs down the engine. I listened to the trans underneath and it makes noises like its turning but nothing unusual. I have the drive shafts off and in process of taking transfer case off. Is there anyway I can check the trans after I get the transfer case off? Any ideas would be great or suggestions of something I'm not thinking of. Thanks Josh
