I've been looking everywhere for the quarter mile and 0-60 times for like a stock 96-01 shortbed reg cab 5.9L automatic. This is what i want to buy and i was curious if anyone has their times. I saw dakotas with 5.9L do 14.4

 

What you're looking for will make a nice truck, but don't buy it because it's fast! A 318 Dakota 4x4 will blow the doors off a 5.9 Ram. I know I've owned both. It's the huge weight difference that is to blame for this. I would never go back to a Dakota, but I loved the quick!

 

Randy is correct. Weight is key. My 03 5.9 QC would have a hard time getting below 16.00

 

Well i realize a 2wd manual reg cab short bed dakota with a 5.2 l would smoke a reg cab short bed 2wd 1500 5.9, but im not a fan of the dakotas inferior size and interior space. I plan to put a supercharger on the ram and kenne-bell says itll do 6.8 sec 0-60, but i am open to getting a dakota if it has a 5.9 L. At vortechsuperchargers.com they say the 96 dakota has a 5.9 but as far as i see they only put the 5.9 in the rt models.

6.8 sec. super charged quarter mile 14.8 sec 92 mph is alright

id still get smoked by a ford escape. man according to kenne bell itll do a 5.9 sec 0-60... thatd beat a friggin srt10

I read the srt10 0-60 was 4.9.

 

I'm going to save up for a blower for my V-6. I like to have my cake and eat it too. First tank of gas ran thru the V-6 netted 19.5 MPG. The extra boost will be plenty for me, and the economy will be great.
