Default Lift ?????

I'm looking at lifting my truck around 6" I know alot of you have done this, but I was wondering how many of you kept the stock 17" Rims? Is it possible to keep them? I haven't found my oversized tires available in 17".

I didn't use my stock wheels. I put 35X12.5X17 tires on 17X9" wheels. According to the dealer, the stock wheels woulda been too narrow for that tire.

About the only ones that I have found to keep the stock wheels is the Rancho 4 1/2". There are 2 models 16572 16573. The "3" is the one for stock wheels. The kit is available in red or black. I have asked around why noone makes a kit for someone to keep the stock rims and the answer i get is "the whole idea of a lift kit is to put on bigger tires". True bigger tires is the only way to get cleareance, but not everyone can afford $40K for a new truck and then $3k (if you are lucky) for kit, rim and tires. Thats when I usually get the deer-in-the-headlight look. Maybe one of these days either the companies or dealers will pull there head out and sell trucks pre made up. I know im sure there are liability issues. Hmm sounds like a new poll? Buy a truck with 6" lift and 37" tires new or do it yourself.
