I have seen plenty of trucks with those things either ripped off or hanging off because they hit a dune hill to hard that was to steep or they caught air on the whoops and came down on one and ripped it off [:@]

On a lot of SRT-4's, the dealers left them in the trunk of the car (as they came from the factory) assuming most people wouldn't know what they were or even care. Mine put it on, bless their heart...[sm=smiley4.gif]

There is one other very important reason those deflectors are there, they force air up through the radiator rather than down around it for cooling. Alot of models WILL have cooling system issues if that deflector is ripped off/torn off/pulled off or otherwise missing.

Well, since I'm running a SRT-4, it's good to know to help keep the temps down!!!
Thanks!!![sm=smiley4.gif]

I can honestly say that the only times I've really ever noticed those guards, deflectors, whatever they're called are on there is when I'm driving a car and NOT a truck and scrape the curb!!!! Thank you for the technical explanation, you guys....I obviously needed to pay more attention to that!
