well i looked under the hood today, and what do i find...
my intake fell off right between the TB Hat and the CAI metal tube.

What a POS, boycott cheap intakes.

I got it off of ebay for like 50 shipped to my door, its got a plastic TB hat...im thinkin i should have got the metal one. Still, i don't know what to do, i think im going to put the stock intake back on...

Anyone have a cheap CAI too?
Got any good idea's on how to hold it on better? Get a better seal on the TB?

 

Maybe the tube was not clamped down tight enough? I'm assuming there is a rubber connector tube between the TB hat & metal tube... I've found my K&N filter off a few times on both cars, you need to make sure all of those clamps are on there good so this doesn't happen.

I had a cheap one and it never fell off of my 5.9L, It had a support that came off of the exhaust manafold and it also had a metal TB hat, not plastic. I had it on there for 3 years with no problem, and when I sold my truck, I gave it to my uncle to put on his truck.

 

well it was on pretty tight, think i just hit a good bump and it squeezed itself off...
i think I need a metal TB hat to solve my problem.

 

You can pick up a whole kit with one of the metal chrome tophats for about 35-40 on ebay.
