Default 96' engine swap-need big power-any ideas?

Ok here we go
starting with a 1996 RAM extended cab with 360, 3.91 rear, tow package.
i am looking at the 360 crate motor with 380hp/410ft./lb 9.0 to 1 cr. then I would
add a Kenne Bell supercharger this should bring it to about 460hp/510 ft. lb.
headers, big radiator, new cats, boost-a-pump and appropriate electronics.

I thought this was the easyest route because I want to keep accessories and not have to
mod motor mounts and fab special parts. I also want to keep it inspection/ OBD2 legal

Is this a viable path?
what trans best matches this? 4 speed auto is what exist. how about the new 5 speed
or a 6spd. manual.
note: this is not my truck, I volunteered to help someone put this together
let the comments fly!

WOW!! Your best bet would be to get a standard Magnum 360 crate engine and do the supercharger and/or other mods. The 360/380 was intended to be a drag motor and would require a high stall converter in a much lighter vehicle than your truck. I'm not sure that it would meet emisions either considering the cam it uses, but I'm not sure on this one. If you look at the description of that engine, those ratings are with a 750 carb and headers, not fuel injection, although an aftermarket injection set-up could be used.

Yes, that cam is large for a small cubic inch motor.
the #5007732 360-magnum MPI V8 crate motor is probably
a better choice. the cam is better suited to this app.
