I have inharited a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 2 wheel drive witha 5.2L(?)
engine. It looks like the 318cid. I collect IH trucks (Scouts, t-alls, pu, et..) so working on a "newer" truck is sorta different for me but since IH is 1/2 Dodge it's OK.
My problem is: in overdrive, at 1250 to 1750rpm the truck "shudders". that's about 55 to 65 mph.
when I take it off overdrive my rpm's increase to 2100 and the shuddering, while still there, is bearly noticeable.
What is the cause of this shuddering? I have changed the plugs and visually observed them sparking when I crank the engine.
I commute about 30 miles to work every day and my fuel expense is about $60 to $70 a week so If I can lower my rpms at hyway speeds it would help .
Is this a senser problem or a tranny problem or fuel pump or.....????
