Maint. ?......plugs,ATF. etc
I have some general questions for you guys & gals. Spark plugs/wires, swap them @ 30k. Dealer recommended it. Book says 30k for plugs, 60k for wires. ATF fluid, dealer says every 12k miles. Talking with one of the Dodge techician, he says 60k is sufficant, as long as no heavy towing. Says the ATF +4 is a syn blend, anti-foaming bla bla bla. I understand that the dealer will recommend everything underneath the sun, I just want to get a general idea what do to. I am @ 29k miles, so sometime this summer I would like to do some maint.
Or let me ask you, what should I do for 30k mile maint. Dealer quoted me ~$600 for maint. [sm=smiley35.gif]
Includes.
Oil Change
Inspect front suspension, fluids, brakes, lights.
Perform battery service, throttle body service, engine tune-up, fuel injection flush.
Tranny service
check cooling system
Replace fuel filter.
Most of this stuff I can do myself, just wanted to get some opionons

I have an 02 1500 4.7 short bed and here is what the manual states in regards to the fuel filter.
"FUEL FILTER/PRESSURE
REGULATOR
DESCRIPTION
A combination fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator
is used on all engines. It is located on the
top of the fuel pump module. A separate frame
mounted fuel filter is not used with any engine.
Both fuel filters (at bottom of fuel pump module
and within fuel pressure regulator) are designed for
extended service. They do not require normal scheduled
maintenance. Filters should only be replaced if
a diagnostic procedure indicates to do so."

I would change the plugs, oil, tranny fluid, air filter, coolant and brake fluid. Check the pads for wear.
Everything else should be fine.
Personally, I would change the axle's gear oil to synthetic too. (*other if you have a limited slip diff)
