i was wondering if any one could give me a site where i could find a new automatic transmission for a 1997 dodge ram 1500 w/ the 5.9ltr 360cid its 2wheel drive reg.cab reg.bed if any other info is needed juss ask thanx a lot

 

Get the reman from the dealer with the 3yr/36K warranty-other option is try Jasper engines

buy the rebuilt trany from dodge, cant beat warranty. I went thru three trannies in 2 weeks, till i found a good one.

 

Go to the Dodge dealer and tell them what you have-they will order you a rebuilt trans from Mopar-it has a 3year 36000 mile warranty

 

o ok but wut if i wanted say a brand new tranny not a rebuilt 1 i could get that too right???

 

they can do that also.. just gonna cost a whole lot more

 

some transmissions are not available new anymore-for new cars. I have put remans in cars with less than 20K under warranty because a new unit was no longer being built... You have to ask first. Example-a 1997 1500 2WD with 5.9 and a 46RE trans uses part#R4864242AA-it is NOT available new, only a remanufactered unit is available-for 1980.00
