BODY LIFT QUESTION
Body lifts suck! I will never do another one. I put one on a Blazer I had. Not only did it look like crap with the space between the bumpers and the body, and then you had the fact you saw more frame. Worse part was that the you heard a ton more rattles and stuff in the cab. No thanks, never again. Spend your hard earned money on a real lift and have something nice when your done. Sorry just my .02 cents.
I found a company that will make me a 22" suspension lift a guy that lives in amarillo I talked to said that Maximum altitude in San Antonio will do it that is what his is. Also he said that nobody makes a body lift for the 99 dodge cummins.
I'll second the "body lifts suck" :-)
Had one on an old chevy (did I say that?)...lol. Being able to see more frame, etc didn't bother me at all, rather it was the rattling and harshness it added to the ride (as if a truck lifted 10" with 38" mud tires isn't harsh enough). Body lifts replace the rubber bushings with hard plastic (or whatever the polymer they use is). It really does make the ride all the more harsh, very noticeable. Everyhting rattled like crazy too. I de-installed that body lift and just left it at 10" on the suspension. The 3" body lift didn't really make much difference anyway. They are cheaper price-wise to buy than a higher suspension lift, but you think popping ball joints and dropping axles is a pain, the labor to install a body lift is horrendous. I will never, ever again add a body lift to a truck.
