Exhaust/Idle Vibration
Man I dont blame you at all... I took my truck in saturday and they told me thier "Driveabililty" guy wasnt in on saturdays. On sunday my check engine light came on and the transmission wont shift now.. it stays in what im assuming is 3rd gear.. I was able to limp it home only becuase I was really close already. The dealer came and got the truck and are gonna take care of the trans but I have a feeling they are gonna call the vibe I have normal and then im gonna get pissed.. this truck is a week old and already the tranny has gone out and it has a vibe issue. Ill give them the chance to fix the issue but if they dont ill do what it takes to get another truck or make sure they fix the issue. Yes it is a truck.. but that doesnt mean it needs to feel like a ragged out truck. My dads 160K mile 98 dodge has ZERO vibrations and still runs good. Ill keep you updatd on what they find with my truck and please let me know what they find with yours!
today i took it to the other place, they put a couple hangers on the pipe and muffler and completely fixed the problem, all in an hour and a half, this is a perfect example of dodge "mech" incompetence
Do yo have any pics of where they put the hangers? So you had a rattle noise plus a vibration in the truck? Im trying to see if we have the same problem.. if so im gonna have to go have the same thing done. Thanks for keeping us all posted.
i dont have pics, but i know they put one behind the muffler and i think one in front, basically just held it alot firmer so there was no more vibration...i dont think the dealer can do it for you because they wont modify their vehicles without special permission...your best bet is another shop like i used...im pretty sure we were having the same problem, it was a vibration and like a rattling resonating in the cab...it happened when i was at a stop and mostly when the a/c was on...good luck lmk how it goes
