I hope Dodge doesn't take this lying down and does a little aero work on next years SRT10 so that it can regain that title.

They'll need to do more than a little aero work...that thing really shattered the record. [>:] That vette motor is a monster!

Technically it fits the definition of a truck....at least when it comes to registering it. There is MORE room for cargo than there is for passengers...therefore it would get registered as a truck.
That's a loophole that always allowed Ramchargers (or any SUV) to be registered as a passenger car/vehicle, even when they were based on a truck....because there was MORE room to hold people than cargo.

Since the Dakota is not selling very well,
perhaps DCx should drop the 'sharp edge' styling
and make the Dakota look like a 'El Camino' style Dodge Magnum?
Then again, since the Viper is made by a custom small factory
perhaps they should turn the SRT engineers loose to design a pickup
with a Viper front end? I would bet it would sell better than the Prowler
which was built by the same small factory.
