long tube headers installed
I just got dyntech supermaxx long tubes installed on my 04 hemi. However, the guys had a few problems that came up. First of all they had to to do the whole thing w/o the front tires and the fender wall off, so if you know anything about that than you know it was a real pain in the ***. Second the bung holes for the 02 sensors were not lined up right so they had plug the originals cut for new ones so that the check engine light wouldnt come on when they were finished. Also the y-pipe was about 2 inches short of my cat back exhaust, so they had to cut off the pipe and weld on a longer one. Then all off the hangers wouldnt work so they had to cut them off and weld on new ones. After more than six hours and $1700(for everything) it is finally complete. The price is a little steep, but in ny opinion it was worth every penny. My exhaust note by itself would almost be enough, but the power unleashed by those long tubes throught the rpms, but especially pulls very hard starting at 2500 all the way to 5800. This was the finshing piece to my hemi since I already have Mac cold air intake, motorvator tb spacer, jet chips pcm, and gibson super truck exhaust, and now dynatech supermaxx long tube headers, I am hoping to have atleast 390 at the fly wheel
about to get a dyno test done to get the rw hp.

I've been looking at those headers too. They look sweet for the 03. I was wondering when the 04 was coming out, obviously they are.[sm=smiley20.gif]
Did you do a dyno run before the installation? How was your power then?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but in most applications short tube headers are easier to instal, while adding more low end grunt. Long tubes, as this post mentions, can be more complicated to install, and will result in better top end gains.
I was going to order the Edelbrock Headers until the incident. Now that I'm looking for a new HEMI I've got some time to wait and see how well all of these Headers turn out to be.
