my 97 ram 4x4 light will not go out has anyone had this probolem before. when i engage my 4hi i feel it go in and i shift out it takes a second but 2hi will resume but the light will not go out what could be the probolem ?<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">

 

i have the same exact problem..... i think its from off roading and never washing the undercarraige....the repeated abusemakes switches and sensors go bad if it is not cleaned

 

I will look on my cd, but isn't there a switch on the right hand side of the forward drive axle that sends that signal? Might pull the plug, clean it and reinstall it and go from there. I will look and let you know if I find anything else.</P>

My 02 Durango 4x4 did this and I took it into the shop and they reset the computer, all was fine.
