Default Help with V-10 Please

I've got a '95 Ram 2500 with the v-10 and the piece of crap Chiltons manual that came with it from the previous oowner only has limited info about the v-10.

The Problem: no power, feels like I'm pulling a 3 ton trailer when it's empty...but seems not affected at lower rpm. I've replaced the plugs and wires, but there's no distributor cap or rotor to replace. Another thought was to replace the PCV Valve, but in the v-10, there isn't one. Any suggestions on where I should from here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Out of curiosity, what is the mileage of the vehicle? Just reaching out of the air I would definitely check fuel pressure, they have been well known to loose the factory pump. Just a thought, and if you can do this under load, boy it can be a life saver!

So lets start out with more data, tell us all you can.

I hate to lead anyone in the wrong direction, when it could be a air filter that has 50,000 miles on it?

Yes,

Have you checked fuel pressure? Or even the fuel filter? These are very easy to check, start with the quick and easy.

Is the truck surging, what RPM and gear do you notice this? More information.

I haven't checked the fuel filter or fuel pump...the section I read in the Chiltons said that the pump module was IN (integral with) the fuel tank and could not be accessed without draining and removing the fuel tank and the filter is built into the assembly. Without a fuel pressure guage tool, I run into a dead end there. Is there an easy way to check these? The truck surges only very slightly, barely noticable as I mash down on the accellerator when speeding up on a freeway on-ramp, so it would be in 2nd and 3rd gears at groundpeeds of 35mph and above. At lower speeds/rpms, the lack of power is hardly noticable. THanks again for your continued help...

I was under the impression that there was a fuel filter laying next to the frame rail. I may be mistaken, but please do a visual check, just to make sure. I know there is a "fuel filter" in the tank, but from my understanding it's not much of one, more like a pre-filter, actually I thought it was no more than a poly screen bag set up. Again, please do a visual. The truck not having a serviceable fuel filter is a bit funny. I wouldn't doubt it though...
Fuel pressure gauges as tools are quite inexpensive, usually they come in some sort of kit, and can check a multitude of applications. Good ol' AutoZone may even lend you one, or other parts houses. I'm not sure if Auto Zone has them, you can check online, regardless buying one will be cheaper than taking it to a shop, if your close, I'll do it for you! If at all possible I check before the regulator, and after.
I have much more possibilities after this, but I just hate typing! Also go ahead and get me on regular e-mail that will make it easier.
Let me know what you find.
