I just bought a 1987 Dodge Dakota. 3.9L V6 5 spd. It's my very first truck. My friend Mike is a die hard Chevy man, a licenced mechanic too... and owns a 1992 Chevy Silverado V8. Now he's been trash talking and telling me that Dodge is crap. And that when it starts having all it's problems, he's gonna be shaking his head telling me "I told ya so".

Is there anything I can say back to him defending my truck? I mean, I know that Chevy is a good truck and probably the most popular name... but is there anything I can get him back with? [&o]

 

Ask him why 9 out of 10 chevy's are still on the job. Answer. That's where they broke down. But seriously. Let him talk his smack when he should be saving his breath for pushing his GM POOPY.

You need to drop a built 318/360 in there if you don't have any emissions laws to deal with. That will slow your GM buddy down for sure.

 

I have been a chevy guy all my life but now i own a ram and a 96 dakota. I love the dakota, its a fun little truck. To be hones though if the 03 and up silverados weren't so ugly i would easily own another.

 

Same here, I have always owned Chevys and would take the old body style over the new piece of crap GM designed anyday. Now, I have an awesome looking 04 Hemi QC with tons of power. Their loss, my gain.

 

I only bought a Dodge because their lot was next to the Chevy lot and Chevy didn't have the one I was looking for.
