Default engine noise

Hey everybody I am new to the Ram ownership..I already have a question....I have a noise coming from my engine. It is a whining, which I have figured I need a new belt, but I also have a sort of metal scratching, grinding( very loud). It only happens in the morning when the engine is cold...After it warms up and I stop the truck and then start it up later it is ok? I have had someone look at it and they said it sounds like the belt tensioner? He could not be sure..because it was not making any noise, but he could feel the tensioner making a vibration. Any advice before I spend the money and change it? Thanks

Default RE: engine noise

Very possible, alot of brands have this wear item, and if you can change it yourself its a easy cheap fix. If it is this part you wont be too surprised as its a very cheaply made part.
