Default Throttle Body Spacer.... Any Experience??

Looking to gun up the HP on my RAM and have run across several different Throttle Body Spacers. I have never used one and have never heard of it before now. The HP increases claims are between 10 and 20 horses. Hard to believe. Is anyone currently running one of these??

I don't know if they really do much on anything other than a carbuerated engine where the plenum volume is being increased. You can get a quick answer by asking them for a money back gaurantee if you don't get an increase in power. See what they say. Good luck.[sm=smiley20.gif]

I do have a throttlebody spacer. will you get the claimed 20 horsepower out of it NO!! Will it help out power delivery YES!! I installed a Helix Power Tower along with a Airmax CAI. I noticed more power down low but not in the top end so much. that was fine with me since I just wanted to get more torque not to concerned about top speed. I have not had it dynoed so I cant tell you how much power I gained but I can tell you that my truck doesn't shift as much going up long hills and it is easier to tow and 4 wheel.

Have you seen a difference in mileage or anything?

On average I gained around 4-5 mpg. City and hwy driving. While towing I gained 8 mpg hwy. I tow a trailer with two sport quads/ fuel/ and all riding gear. on average about 3000 to 3500 lbs it is not like I am towing a large travel trailer. After installing the CAI and TBS it is easy to forget that the quads and trailer are even back there.

HOLY $H!t. That's fantastic. I wish I'd seen those when I had my 4.7L Dakota.

Thanks for the input, grayghost. I am actually about to have the same combo as you on my 02. Airmax CAI and the Helix Power Tower TBS. I found another cheap HP jump that I really noticed in the 3000-3700 range. You can upgrade the RAM 4.7 to a H.O. intake manifold and kick on 15 to 20 quoted horsies. Now that it is done and on, it took a couple hours but it was well worth it.

Glad I could help. Where did you get the H.O. Intake Manifold from? Did you notice a gain in hp/torque. How about mileage?

Found the Manifold at http://www.v8performance.com. Out the door after shipping it was lik $195 and I had it in less than a week. I haven't got any dyno results but, at 3000 rpms I feel a major difference when I open her up. As for the mpg, I haven't seen too much, but I have only had it for like a month, so I always have my foot in that power, if you know what I mean.
