Default Sensor Not Connected?

I wonder if someone could help me. while checking the fluids etc yesterday on my motor,I noticed a connector dangling in mid air behind the driver's headlight assembly. I traced it back to a sensor mounted on the front of the engine bay just to the left of the driver's headlight.

Anyone know where this should be going and what the sensor is for?

Thanks in advance, for any assistance.

Sorted now, think it was for the diesels engine's only, they found the mounting point on the chassis, but no other connector their, so that is whattheyconcluded.

I thought the same as you fella, but that is working fine.

thanks for the reply though.
