96 Truck!
Good Morning! I've been browsingthis forum for the last few weeks (ever since I've settled on my truck) and have a few questions. I'm purchasing a '96 Ram 1500 Laramie, 4x2, extended cab, short box with just over 15000km (9300miles) on it. As I live in Canada and winters can be pretty ugly I'm considering investing in a set of snow tires (yes I'm a wuss when it comes to fish tailing). My question iswith the lack of road time this truck has seen is there anything that I should be wary of? Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think so.. sounds like it was well taken care of. I'd put some weight in the bed if you get over a foot, like sand bags or something. But the truck is solid. Have you been to a dealer and checked for any recalls, just in case?

there are a few recalls on the 96 Ram....just take it up to a dealer and have them take care of what ever has not been fixed. AND DONT LET THEM CHARGE YOU FOR IT!!

As for fish tailing....THATS FUN!!! LOL Ever slid out in front of a Semi befor?? You better regain controll FAST!!

Any way...yeah, a few hundred pounds of sand should do the trick!

I have 200 pounds in mine right now...with more at home in reserve...LOL I may add anouther 200 punds tonight cause you are supposed to get dumped on by morning here...but it will all be gone in a day or two...so I wont have it all in there long LOL

BTW: here is a nice site to check!!
