03 Tailpipe Installed
<DIV class=postcolor>My '04 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Hemi, has the resonator can welded into the tailpipe. Hence, not much of an exhaust note. So I stopped by a local muffler shop the other day, to see if they could either bend a new tailpipe or do something with the existing tailpipe to remove the resonator.
Once up on the hoist, they looked it over, and said they really could not do much with the existing tailpipe based on pipe size and bend location relative to the resonator. They could, however, bend a new tailpipe; which would be a time and materials job. The mechanic then said they had just removed the exhaust from an '03 Hemi on the previous Friday, and maybe the tailpipe from that would fit. Twenty minutes later and $50 the job was done and I was on my way. The '03 tailpipe was a direct fit.
Now the exhaust makes a nice mellow note, no resonance in the cab on the highway, no apparent drop in performance, and I'm a happy camper. </DIV>
