duel spark plugs?!?!?!
I brought my truck to be serviced today and I got a call from the dodge mechanic saying I have duel spark plugs??? The truck is a 2003 dodge ram with the hemi engine. He is charging an extra $80.
Am i getting ripped off?

It's true, the 5.7L Hemi does have dual plugs - that's 16 in all. I've been told that they are platinum tips as well, so they will cost a lot. I've not had mine serviced yet, so I don't know about the cost. I have no idea if an extra $80 is a rip or not.
What service are you having done to your Hemi? Is it really time to change the plugs already?

I am at 35,000 miles. I have done all the maintenance on my truck up till now. The spark plugs seamed to be a pain in the *** so I figured I would have them do it.
I figured I would bring it in this time just to see if they see/do anything that I have missed other then the spark plugs. I am sure I could have waited longer to change them.
They also wanted $300 to do the front and rear diff. I thought that was way too high and I said no to that. A friend and I will take that on next week sometime.
Well at least now I know the guy isn't lying, but probably still ripping me off. [>:]

At 30K the maintenance schedule says to drain and fill the differentials, transfer case, auto tranmission, oil change and spark plug change. I went to the dealer and its $170 an axel. For $67 I bought the fluids, anti-spin for the addative(rear only) and RTV sealant. Took me about a hour an axle. Which come out to about $50 an hour. The paper for some warranty work said they charge $68/hour. It would be around $500 for a 30K service, now thats a rip off.
