Power locks
Can the power locks be disabled or modified so I can leave the keys in the ingnition and still use the keyless to lock/unlock the doors? This has been a problem I am using the van for package delivery and need to lock the doors when leaving the van unattended but depending on weather conditions I may leave it running.
Any ideas?
Thanks

You need to purchase a mechanical key & have the locksmith cut it for you. The key blank # is MB17. If your local locksmith doesn't have it, Sunshine Locksmith will: http://www.sunshinelocksmith.com/locksmith-index.php
I paid $6 (shipping included) a key blank, but it should be cheaper if found locally. This key will allow you to lock & unlock the van with it running, but it will not start the vehicle.

I don't think I am understanding what you are saying, or perhaps you don't understand my needs. I have 4 keys for the van all with remote entry. I need to be able to use the keyless entry to lock/unlock the door with the van running or not.
Basicically I want to leave a key in the ignition at all times and be able to lock/unlock the doors with any of the 3 remaining keyless reomte entry key fobs. Is this possible?
Thanks

I knew exactly what you meant, Joe, but it could never happen in the Sprinter. The MB lock mechanism is already over-engineered as it is; it locks one door, then all doors, then none. Locking the door with a mechanicle key (MB17) is the only way that you can get away with leaving the keys in the ignition. I keep one in my wallet. Try that with a transponder key...ouch!

$100 fix. Go to your local aftermarket remote lock man and have him install a unit. I used a guy in Colorado Springs. You get a second remote that you can carry on a chain or in your pocket that will lock and unlock all the doors at once with a single click. Your oem remote will still work but it may get out of sequence and take a couple of clicks to do what you want but otherwise no problems. My van runs from dispatch to end-of-day and is always locked when I'm away from it.
