Tilt Steering Column?
There is a rather large lever on the right side of the column just before is goes through the dash panel. Push the lever down and then you can move the column up and down, in and out. When you get it where you want it, lift the lever back up to clamp it in place.
I use this vehicle at work. It is not available to me at the moment.
Would you say this lever is clearly visible or could be overlooked? I have not been able to detect anything obvious but I could be looking right past it.
There are control designs in this Sprinter that defy logic like the hood release lever in driver's area of the vehicle as well as the final release lever that is under the hood. Both are less than ideal. I check the oil every other day and I still have to fish for both, especially the final release under the hood. No one at work knows whether these steering wheels tilt or not.
We received several Sprinters a couple of years ago and I am almost certain a manager at that time showed how to adjust the steering column. I think it is a 2005. The copyright on the manual says 2005 though it does not identify the year of the vehicle. Adjusting the steering wheel is not anywhere I would expect it to be in the manual. It ought to be there is it were at least an option. I have read it is a standard feature but in one isolated review they are citing this as the most desired omission.
