Now THAT is awesome. I would absolutely love to get a Sprinter for towing the race car around except for 2 things: 1) I like having 4wd for towing over the pass and on gravel roads, and 2) It lacks power and towing capacity. My Dakota would run circles around it. If that yellow thing came from the factory with a 7000-9000 lb towing capacity and somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-500 lb-ft of torque, I'd be all over it.

That doesn't look that bad. Kinda like them vans I see in mag's everynow than than. Nothing I would do to my make-believe Sprinter.
True.
Maybe the new engines will be a little more powerful, but, nothing near that.
A few years ago, I was trying to convince my friends dad (at that point, my boss) to purchase a new Dodge Sprinter. (Gas was around the $2.00 mark). He was looking at Sprinters the year before, but, evidently was not that important to him.
The real place the Sprinter is better than the GMC is with the GMC Regular, Sprinter 140", wheelbase. (Sprinter comes in short 118, regular 140, and extended 158).
And, than, of course, fuel mileage. His upfitted GMC Savanna 3500 gets 12-13. A Sprinter, with his cargo, would, I guesstimate, 22MPG.
Oh well, its not for everyone (such as those who tow). But for a lot of busnisses, its for them-- because I see a lot lately.

I have an 08 Sprinter and they are designed to be used as work/cargo vehicles. The engine isn't all that because it doesn't need to be. On the plus side Bully Dog has a power programmer out for the Mercedes 3.0 Diesel (which is the engine thats in the Sprinter) and it gives it a good boost. I have one on order for mine along with the WatchDog monitor.
