'06 Dodge (N. America) BAD Mileage / MPG
When I started driving my 2500 140 wheelbase low top I got just over 18 mpg. after the first 3000 miles I started getting 20mpg Now it ranges from 20-22.5 at 10,000 miles.
The real tell was a trip from So. Cal. to Denver with 2 people 380-400 lbs. ( the girfriend is 117 so do the math). We were hauling 2 printers & baggage which was about 1400 lbs. We traveled pushing the governor all the way. The mileage never changed much through mountain or desert. each fill gave me 20.5-23mpg. The view through Southern Utah was worth more than I spent in fuel.

I've considered buying a 06' Sprinter, fuel milage on a low-top 2500 was "factory rated" at 25 to 30 mpg at 1/2 load, HWY. From what I've read here, it looks like 23mpg tops in a 2.7L TD [&:].I'm talking flat mid-west driving.

I just averaged out my last 10,135 miles of driving and averaged 18.849mpg. That's with the 6cyl. I'm hoping I have hit a bit of a break-in point. I also switched over to Elf oil...I'm looking forward to the next 10k!
To the OP: do you have any new info? Still getting crappy economy? Traded it in yet?
