Default ISO: Dodge Sprinter and I-Bot information

Hello,

I’m unexpectedly in the market for a full-size van. Last month, my 2000 Chevy Express van and wheelchair lift were totaled by an uninsured motorist. Luckily, I walked away with just a broken fibula. I will appreciate any guidance as I look to invest in a new vehicle.

Today we went to the Cleveland-area Dodge Sprinter dealer in order to make sure that I could work the shifter (which I can) and to see how much room the driver’s seat area has and how the seat adjusts. During the test drive, the van handled pretty easily for me. I was surprised that the steering wheel doesn’t “tilt.” Do you know if tilt and/or power seats will be an available option on the 2007 model?

In talking with the sales rep, he told us some things about the Sprinter that I’m looking to verify:

1) 2007 Sprinter model will have an Italian-manufactured diesel engine rather than Mercedes. He didn’t know the name of the Italian manufacturer.

2) 2007 Sprinter model will not offer a power sliding door as an option.

3) 2007 Sprinter model will not offer 4x4 as an option.

As for mobility equipment, has anyone had any experience implementing any of the following into a Sprinter:

1) Manual ramp

2) UVL (under vehicle lift)

3) Power sliding door

4) Power seat

5) Could an I-Bot negotiate these ramps: http://www.handiramp.com/sprinterramps.htm

In advance, thank you very much for your guidance.

Cheryl
