Default Stealth TT/engine gets hot, please help

I have a 1994 R/T TT and the engine get really hot. But the temp. gauge dosen't show that it is overheating. You can even feel it in the car while driving. Is this normal? Also there is a funny smell that comes from the car, could it be from the exuast? And in first gear the turbos don't kick in until 3500 RPM, is this normal? Any help or ideas would be great!!

Um no it shouldnt get that hot, with A/C the Stealth's get freezing cold. What does it smell like? Any smoke coming from exhaust? And Turbo's I believe kick in at 2500rpms.

Your engine bay will get pretty damn hot with the turbos. It is like a night and day difference compared to an NA. As long as the guage actually works, you don't have any coolant boiling out into the overflow, or any other signs of overheating, you should be OK.
