RE: oil pressure sensor gets high when driveing but not at idle
as far as i know there is no problem, if you have low oil pressure at high rpm's then you have a problem. The engine needs higher oil pressure at higher rpms to keep things running good. Oil pump works harder at higher rpms, thus the reason for higher oil pressure.(i think...)
RE: oil pressure sensor gets high when driveing but not at idle
normal for pressure to be a little above 40 at rpm and a little below 40 at idle. as long as its wthin the low-high range painted on the gauge and its full of oil you should be ok.
RE: oil pressure sensor gets high when driveing but not at idle
ok but as i am driving the oil pressure goes scary high....as in one big red tick before the max on the gauge....as soon as im at idle it is back to normal....so what im getting is that everything is ok as long as it has oil in the engine....but could it also mean that oil pump is going bad?
