Hi. I'm new to this forum and glad to see so many Stealth fans. I have a '91 Stealth ES with a custom spoiler and sun roof. My grandpa gave it too me after promising it to me years ago. Not even 40,000 miles on it.

But to get to my topic, what RPM does everyone drive at while on the highway (70-80 mph)? My Stealth overheated and initially we thought it just needed oil. After putting some in it still overheated. Its at a shop right now but they haven't gotten back to me with the problem. I was thinking tonight that maybe the RPM I'm running it at may have something to do with it. On the highway I normally go 70-80 and my RPM is 3000. This is the only manual car I've ever driven so I'm not sure. If anyone could help me out with some info that would be great.

That sounds about right actually. Did the shop flush the cooling system first?

 

I have no idea. They haven't gotten back to me and I haven't been over there yet.

yea ive had all sorts of over heating problems it turns out it was the water pump for my car.. 3k Rpm is right where mine lays at..

 

Yeah I was thinking water pump or radiator. We shall see.

 

Turns out it was just out of anitfreeze though it shouldn't have been. The shop still has it and wants to do another check of everything and drive it a little to make sure it doesn't overheat again.

 

lol you were just low? hopefully that is it... thats the cheapest fix..
