oil pressure light on.... then off
so the oil pressure light comes on when i brake but only if the engine alsogoes below 1000rpm. the light kinda flickers on and off but is not on steadily. I changed the sensor last fall, seemed to help, but figured it could wait until after the holidays. so today is cold (10below this morning), the car started hard but it started. i let it idle for about 7-10 minutes before leaving for work, it ran fine for about 29 of the 30 mile commute. once i got off the freeway and to the stop sign at the end of the ramp, the oil pressure light came on, the rpms dropped to about 500 and the car stalled. It fired right back up, but proceed to stalled 3 more times before I got into the parking structure at work. It started back up with relative ease everytime, too.
I don't know what is wrong with it. Could the sensor be causing all these problems?
any help is appreciated!

what type of oil are you using and how many miles is n the motor? I really not sure why it stalles but the light might come on because oil is too thin and can't create enough pressure. I know one guy who had his motor blow(holes in oil pan and croked pistons in the cilynder were found after inspection) after his oil pressure droped down to 10 psi about 4 times. I'm sure he had the whole motor failing but low oil pressure doesn't help things.
I really don't see why it would stall but then start right up because of low oi pressure. Maybe there is fail switch in ecu that shuts the motor off if too low of oil pressure?

The low oil pressure light comes on at < 7psi of pressure. Either you have a faulty sending unit which is unlikely since it it pretty new. Your oil level could be low and when you stop, the oil is shifting away from the pickup tube causing the low oil pressure light to come on. Or your oil pan is dented up, again causing the oil pressure light to come on when you stop. You need to get it hooked up to a mechanical gauge and see what the true oil pressure is at idle. If it really dropping that low, you run the risk of spinning a bearing.
