reving up but taking a second t respond suds like cutch, the reverse being gone seems to be more transmission related. Coult still be a linkage tho

Default RE: Clutch or Tranny problem?

I have a '91 stealth ES 5 speed and it has the same problem with reverse and first gear, they pop out/grind when I try to shift into them. Sometimes I can get it to go into gear after a few tries.

I took it to a mechanic and he said the master cylinder in the tranny is going out. I have a new clutch that I got in november. So it's probably that OR it's a problem with the syncronizers. Do you have the standard transmission fluid or one for performance? If standard... that causes problems with gears and grinding for the syncros. This car has been known for transmission problems, sadly.
