I have a 92 stealth es i recently did a tranny swap on.Ever since the swap,i have been having major problems. The car lacks power, i have no throttle responseonly when put in gear, and when the car is to opperating temp., if you shift it into gear the rpm's will drop under 1000 and will often shut off. My question is could the ecm have been scrambled from the new transmission, or will the tranny work with a different ecm then from the factory? The tranny i put in came from a 93 stealth turbo. And where can you get a rebuilt or new ecm from thanks

 

did you swap a different trans? like 6 speed instead of 5 speed, or manual instead of auto or other way around? It is possible that trans computer could be bad. http://www.ecmtogo.com/ can rebuild your ecm

 

if i rember right you there is a ecm just for the tranny... if it came from a diff year i think you would have to change the tranny ecm. that is if its a auto.. ill look it up later on tonight when i get the chance to and see what the book says. you could also check out stealth316.com or ask on 3si.org.
