Default valve ticking

93 R/T no turbo. In the morning I parked my car just moved out of the driveway. Later when I started up I had loud ticking valve sound. I stopped the car right away than started it again, The a/c heat control panel got crazy and the screen on it went into stripes than came back with my a/c blowing on the highest. Ticking went away however I had funny smell in the cabin and my A/C control panel starts up with red lines 5 second later comes on. I did not dare to drive it today, I hope it is not the ECU I jist bought it 4 months ago.
Please let me know if you guys had anything like that before or any idea?
Thanks

more than likely it's just a lifters ticking. These motors are notorious for ticking on start up until oil pressure is up or at low rpms. Now about ac/heat control panel, really not sure but because of funny smell my guess is you got a short somewhere and now something is fried.

I would say you just need new 3rd generation valve lifters

Actually that reminds me of the other stealth i had. I know a lot of the stealth’s have had the lifter problems but in my case it was something else. It was actually a scored Crank. Apparently a lot of 3000gt motors have this problem in the where the first cylinder attaches to the crank. If your looking at the motor and the noise is coming from the front right of the engine this may be the problem. But do not wait to long because if the scoring it too bad you will not be able to just machine it down a little.
