1992 Dodge Stealth ES (Knocking really, really loudly.)
I bought a 1992 Dodge Stealth ES two weeks or so ago and I've really only gotten to drive it one day. On the way home the clutch burnt out on me because it was slipping so bad and as soon as I got a new clutch and flywheel I drove it for a couple hours and then it started a slight knock. It did jump time (my timing belt was probably a bit loose and then I might've kinda sorta downshifted to high RPMs and did some racing shifts and such). I got it back in time and it runs better but knocks very loudly. It got steadily worse and I am not exactly sure what it is or where it is coming from. To tell you the truth it sounds like it is coming from the middle of the engine around under the intake there or something. I am not sure if I did something to a rod or some people say I could've bent some valves or something. If it were valves would this be an easy fix? I know a rod wouldn't be. Any help is appreciated.
I pulled off the front valve cover and I cannot see anything wrong. I haven't bothered with the rear one. Maybe a piston slap? If anyone has encountered a similar situation, please give me some help or tips. Thanks.
