Default 91 stealth r/t stereo

I just bought a 91 Stealth R/T and just recently picked up a sub and amp off a buddy. I am curious if either the CD player (bottom deck) or the tape deck/equalizer (top deck) has a preout at all for an amp? I know some car factory decks do, but I'm not sure if the Stealth one does. Secondly, whats the best way to get the wires to the deck from my amp in the trunk in the stealth. If someone can quickly answer my questions, it'd save me a lot of time. Thanks a lot.

Btw, does anyone know what's wrong if the SRS light is lit up on the dash? I know its the airbag, but does it mean there's a problem? Thanks a lot.

To the best of my knowledge no there is not a RCA out on the headunit...at least there was not on my tapedeck with full band eq. The radio is extremely easy to remove for you to check. Just get a nail file or something of the sort and pust it in the bottom of the trim by the little tray, give a little twist and pull and it will come right off. There are then 4 screws to be removed and wala, the radio is out.

To run wires to your amp from the head unit you will need to remove the plastic cover on the lower door seal, and the seat protion of the back seat will need removed. Tuck the wire up behind the dash from the floor, tuck the wire under the carpet and run it down the side of the car under the carpet. Feed the wire through the back seat moulding to where the seat surface you removed was. Just slide the wire under the back of the seat and there you have your RCA and Amp turn on wire in the trunk.

You will need to run power from the battery to the rear of the car as well. There is a gromet behind the pedals that you can feed the power wire through the firewall, then do the same as I expained above. You will want to run the power wire on the opposite side of the rca and turn on. It is a little difficult and takes some time to get the wire through the gromet, but it is possible. I found it easier to feed out through the car (from the inside out to the engine compartment). You will get frustrated, but it is possible being I fed a 0 gave power wire through being I am running a distribution block. You can get away with an 8 gauge wire if you are just running an amp.

Have fun and good luck!

I forgot about the SRS light...that is normal on all Stealths and 3000gts.

There are a few different ways to fix the problem...

1. You can take it to the dealer
2. You can turn you key back and forth between auxillary and off 20 or 25 time I believe and it should fix the problem. Been a while since I have had to do it.
3. Not sure if just disconnecting the battery for 24 hours would fix it or not, but it fixes lights on other cars.

Your SRS system is still functional I do believe, just a common problem with Stealths and 3000gts.
