Default Cat. Convertor ever go bad?

Has anyone ever had one of these go bad and it caused a driveability problem? Many years ago I had one go bad in a 84 Reliant and it was very noticable. Soon as I replaced it the car ran smooth as silk. Just wondering if this could be the driveability problem i'm having with the Stealth. My 92 still has the original.

yes, they can go bad. it will cause some loss of power, and can often be noticed due to a rattling sound...that is generally speaking.
